IDOL ACROSS AMERICA

American Idol created a cross-country Olympic torch-like relay with the Idol microphone, and was looking for a digital extension. Submersive concepted and developed an application that used Google Maps and GPS technology to create an up-to-the-minute real-time map that allowed fans to follow the microphone as it crossed the country over the course of two weeks. Submersive also developed a sweepstakes module that allowed fans in cities along the route to enter to win the chance to carry the microphone locally. The page received 33,000 visitors in 3 weeks with no paid media.
